André Hassan Khan

André Hassan Khan is a career soldier, author, and chairman of the Liberal Soldiers and Veterans Association (Liberale Soldaten und Veteranen e. V.). As a sensor operator for the Heron 1 drone system, he gained operational experience in Afghanistan and Mali. He combines this experience with a liberal perspective on security policy, drones, and autonomous systems. For him, the focus is on individual freedom—and the responsibility to protect it through effective defense, strong fundamental rights, and democratic oversight. In *Today, Everything Feels Like War*, co-authored with Gideon Böss, he describes the personal consequences of military deployments.
